OLTCC Community of Practice: Antibiograms in Long Term Care
Join us for a focused Community of Practice session on Antibiograms in Long-Term Care, presented by Bradley Langford, PharmD (Public Health Ontario). This session will explore how facility-specific antibiograms can support more informed antimicrobial decision-making and improve resident outcomes across Ontario’s long-term care homes.
With individualized urinary antibiogram reports now available for over 600 LTC homes, this session will help clinicians understand how to interpret these reports, how they can inform empiric antibiotic choices, and how to integrate them effectively into everyday clinical practice. Bradley will highlight practical examples, common pitfalls, and stewardship considerations relevant to LTC prescribers.
Designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, and interdisciplinary team members, this session aims to strengthen antimicrobial stewardship and support safer, more targeted prescribing for residents.
