INTERESTED IN JOINING A COMMITTEE? We would love to have you! Here are the Committees available:
AWARDS COMMITTEE
This committee reviews the annual awards portfolio by reviewing submissions and criteria for both the Physician of the Year Award and the Nurse Practitioner of the Year Award. Each award is presented at the annual conference. This process is all accomplished via virtual communication between committee members and no in person meeting of the committee is required.
COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE COMMITTEE
This committee meets virtually every two months to select topics and speakers for the monthly COP Webinars based on feedback from participants. The COP Webinars are held the third Thursday of each month, except for the Conference month – October. Committee meetings are held as needed and via Zoom at such time is convenient for committee members.
CONFERENCE COMMITTEE
This committee meets once / twice per month beginning in January through to May to source and select topics and speakers for the annual conference. Meetings are generally held between 12 pm and 1 pm via Zoom.
CORONER COMMITTEE
The OLTCC office receives Coroner reports based on LTC home incidents. It looks to OLTCC to review and respond with recommendations for any possible changes and outcomes of each case. These are received sporadically, so there is no set meetings / times. This is all accomplished by email.
EDUCATION COMMITTEE
The Education Committee serves as the central governing body overseeing various educational offerings within the organization. It provides structure and strategic direction for educational initiatives. This committee has the overarching reach of many of the educational offerings, such as the Medical Director Course, Refresher Course, and other possible new education courses in the future. This committee meets virtually every two months.
MEDICAL DIRECTOR COURSE & REFRESHER COURSE COMMITTEE
The Medical Director Course Committee ensures the systematic review and updating of the design and content of the curriculum, recommends dates and format of future offerings, oversees the recruiting and training of faculty and coordinates with the office management group for accreditation when required, planning and marketing and operations of the curriculum. From time to time negotiates with other parties for use of curriculum materials. This committee meets via Zoom generally once every 2 months or as needed.
