DESCRIPTION:Session Summary\nJoin Dr. Whitney Huggins and Dr. Emily Wilson for a practical and clinically focused Community of Practice session exploring dermatology in long-term care (LTC), with an emphasis on common conditions, assessment, and when specialist referral may be warranted.\nThe discussion will address:\n\nIdentification and management of common dermatologic conditions in LTC residents\nPractical approaches to skin assessment in older adults\nRecognizing when dermatologic concerns can be managed within the LTC setting and when specialist referral may be appropriate\nApproaches to common presentations such as pruritus, inflammatory skin conditions, medication-related skin reactions, and benign and malignant skin lesions\nClinical pearls and case-based learning to support frontline LTC team\n\nThis session is designed for LTC clinicians and leaders seeking to strengthen their confidence in dermatologic assessment and management and to enhance quality of care for residents.\nCOP is now accredited!\nThis one-credit per hour Group Learning program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Ontario Chapter for up to 1 Mainpro+ credit.\nTo be eligible for credit: Participants must attend the full session.
