SUMMARY:Community of Practice: Management of Osteoporosis and Fracture Prevention in LTC
DESCRIPTION:Fractures related to osteoporosis are a leading cause of morbidity in older adults. In this session, Dr. Alexandra Papaioannou will highlight evidence-based strategies for diagnosing and managing osteoporosis in long-term care residents, with a focus on fracture prevention. Participants will review pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, fall prevention approaches, and practical strategies for implementing best practices in LTC settings.\nCOP is now accredited!\nThis one-credit per hour Group Learning program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Ontario Chapter for up to 1 Mainpro+ credit.\nTo be eligible for credit:\nParticipants must remain available for the entire duration of the session. A mandatory post-session survey must be completed in order to receive your certificate.\nRegistration is required to attend. Only registered participants will be sent the Teams link prior to the session.\n
