SUMMARY:OLTCC Community of Practice: Antibiograms in Long Term Care
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a focused Community of Practice session on Antibiograms in Long-Term Care, presented by Bradley Langford, PharmD (Public Health Ontario). This session will explore how facility-specific antibiograms can support more informed antimicrobial decision-making and improve resident outcomes across Ontario’s long-term care homes.\nWith individualized urinary antibiogram reports now available for over 600 LTC homes, this session will help clinicians understand how to interpret these reports, how they can inform empiric antibiotic choices, and how to integrate them effectively into everyday clinical practice. Bradley will highlight practical examples, common pitfalls, and stewardship considerations relevant to LTC prescribers.\nDesigned for physicians, nurse practitioners, and interdisciplinary team members, this session aims to strengthen antimicrobial stewardship and support safer, more targeted prescribing for residents.\nCOP is now accredited!\nThis one-credit per hour Group Learning program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Ontario Chapter for up to 1 Mainpro+ credit.\nTo be eligible for credit:\nParticipants must remain available for the entire duration of the session. A mandatory post-session survey must be completed in order to receive your certificate.\nRegistration is required to attend. Only registered participants will be sent the Teams link prior to the session.\nThu, February 19, 2025 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)\nWe look forward to having you attend the event!\n
